I much rather get it from our Saudi allies. They are much more trustworthy than those evil canucks. People who come from a land that cold must be evil. And pipelines are much more dangerous for the environment than sending supertankers thousands of miles across the ocean or transporting volatile gasoline in 18 wheelers.
Besides, in a year or two, everyone knows we will be using vegetable oil to fuel all of our cars and windmills to power our towns, why do we need this stuff anyway right?
Obama’s friend Warren Buffet does not want to have that pipeline built.
Warren Buffet OWNS the railroad that is shipping the crude to the coast where it is loaded on tankers to ship to China.
Warren Buffet will Loose if the pipeline is built.
Which is more likely to happen? A train wreck, an oil tanker disaster, or a pipeline rupture?
Since there are over 15 thousand miles of major pipelines in the USA in use right now and none off them have ruptured, I think you should be able to figure that one out without even having to go back to elementary school.
If one were to rupture, shut it down and the spill stops. Try that with overturned tank cars.
National seciruty of resources is 1. there are already over 400,000 miles of similar pielines running criss cross in the USA. No incidents. That’s 2 So, prove your danger factor. 3. Canada is our ally. Why piss off our friends? For Saudi’s?
So, go have your oil provided grown, shipped, preserved and cooked lunch. In your oil fueled heated home and keep asking wonky questions on your 99% oil made computer. In your 90% oil produced jammies.
Directly from a GOVERNMENT site (link provided):
The nation’s more than two million miles of pipelines safely deliver trillions of cubic feet of natural gas and hundreds of billions of ton/miles of liquid petroleum products each year. They are essential: the volumes of energy products they move are well beyond the capacity of other forms of transportation. It would take a constant line of tanker trucks, about 750 per day, loading up and moving out every two minutes, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to move the volume of even a modest pipeline. The railroad-equivalent of this single pipeline would be a train of 75 2,000-barrel tank rail cars everyday. These alternatives would require many times the people, clog the air with engine pollutants, be prohibitively expensive and — with many more vehicles on roads and rails carrying hazardous materials — unacceptably dangerous.
Pipeline systems are the safest means to move these products. The federal government rededicated itself to pipeline safety in 2006 when the PIPES Act was signed. It mandates new methods and makes commitments for new technologies to manage the integrity of the nation’s pipelines and raise the bar on pipeline safety.
I would rather support Canada than the middle east! What’s wrong with you?
Don’t worry about mother earth. Technology has come a long way since the oil spill in Yellowstone National Park back in July 2011.

a number of it. a million) it ought to consequence the fee of gasoline. 2) specific 3) specific 4) 0bama does not elect to sign this earlier the election by way of fact it is going to harm his ":green": vote. yet relax certain that he has already met with union leaders to calm them dowm. See they elect this very badly and he does not elect to lose their votes the two. the only reason they don’t seem to be vocal approximately it now it that they have got been informed he might help it after he gets re-elected. they’re happy with that by way of fact they recognize even though if 0bama isn’t elected the Republicans already help it. the two way they win. interior the long-term this might save money and create jobs.
Real cute, I bet you thought a long time to get the wording just right.
But it is really all about money. Congressmen vote for it becuase of campaign donors who will cut them off if the don’t vote for it. Simple. All money all the time. Disgusting form a government but that’s what we’ve got.
I think making Canada rich is our best option. Of course they will just take all our oil money then claim it is not the oil at all but their national health care that is responsible for their wealth if that happens. Then like a bunch of morons we’d believe them and institute it here.
Wouldn’t a pipeline pollute a lot less than trucking all the oil south to refineries?
Hmmm…a better question would be, why are Republicans forcing a pipeline down the throats of every American citizen, when it has been roundly rejected by Canadian citizens? Are we easy marks, or something?
Maybe to help our struggling economy &: unemployment by creating tens of thousands of jobs, while reducing our dependence on oil we currently buy from (i.e. supporting) our arab enemies, not allies.
But that’s just a guess.
