Three well dressed men came to my door yesterday and asked me how I was doing and everything.
Then they asked me what I believed in.
So I was just wondering…
What do Mormons do?
Is Mormon like a religion? (I.e. Baptist, Muslim, Catholic, etc.)
What do Mormons believe in?
So you’ve gotten quite a lot of answers, most of them negative. It turns out that folks like to make fun of and even attack Mormon beliefs.
Mormons believe first and foremost in Jesus Christ. We believe that he is the Son of God and that his sacrifice, death, and resurrection paid the price for the sins of all men. We try constantly to follow his teachings and perfect example.
We also believe that God has called prophets and apostles in these days, just as he did anciently. The first of these was Joseph Smith, who lived in the early 1800s. Joseph Smith was guided to an ancient record written by prophets that lived in America during Old and New Testament times. That book is the Book of Mormon (that’s why we’re called Mormons – the official name of the church is the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – by the way, Mormon was one of the last prophets who wrote in the book). The book teaches and testifies of Jesus just as the Bible does.
Joseph Smith was once asked what Mormons believe. He answered as follows:
1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam’s transgression.
3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ: second, Repentance: third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins: fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly: we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes: that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent: that Christ will reign personally upon the earth: and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may.
12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men: indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.
mormons is a term used to describe the followers or constitutents of certain denominations with the Latter Day Saint movement.mormons believe that the gospel of jesus christ, as restored on the earth through the prophet joseph smith, is the path to happiness in this life
Read Saints, by Orson Scott Card. They are a religion. They have been slandered since their formation around the time of the US Civil War. I wouldn’t believe anything anybody else says about them except themselves.
Knowing the fellows of my religion, I am not Mormon, I would only trust about half of what they say about themselves. Some people barely understand their own religion, much more someone else’s.
Usually 4… but sometimes 3
Mormons consider all other Christian Churches to be Apostate, which means ":fallen away from the truth":.
All Bible believing Christians who have studied the Mormon Church teach that the Mormon Church is a false cult, pretending to be Christian when it is not.
Mormons deny all of the fundamental teaching of Bible based Christianity.
Here are examples of what Mormons don’t believe:
Jesus is God.
Jesus is God’s Only Begotton Son.

Weird doesn’t begin to describe it. Mormonism is a type of religion, more like a cult. They believe in polygamy, (one man with many wives all living together). I would stay away from them.
Mormonism is a form of Christianity. Mormons believe it is very important to spread their beliefs to others so ":Jesus will save them.": This is why Mormons go to door-to-door trying to convert people.
mormons are delusional just like every other religion out there. They believe in santa claus(oh I meant Jesus Christ). Basically the’re there to tell you that their religion is right and everyone elses is wrong. They are going to heaven and everyone else is going to hell. They do support having more than one wife and they don’t like african americans. warren jeffs is a famous mormon. he’s in prision right now for having multiple wives and marrying one like 14 years old. but i guess that’s a bit better than muhmmmad from the islam religion who married his squeeze when she was 7, but he didn”t have sex with her until the age of 9
Here is a website you can go that will show you that they are an occult.
Be careful cause Jesus said :
4 And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in My name, saying, вЂI am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.
If you have questions go to www.thercg.org,they have free literature and do not ask for nothing but that you get to know God.
You know what, you can have them over to talk, they will explain it. I had them come over for a little while, but went back to my roots. I checked out about 8 religions before I decided.
