In the article … Williamson’s excommunication was lifted by Pope Benedict XVI, along with that of three other bishops from the anti-modernization movement of the late Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.
What do you expect from Hitler youth
These bishops were excommunicated for being in open schism with the church, not because of their views on the holocaust. the lifting of the excommunication is not an endorsement from rome on their views, but an attempt to close said schism and bring unity to the church. Rome has declared that bishop Williamson must retract his statements about the holocaust beforehe can enter full communion with the church again. So far from condoning holocaust denial it seems that the pope has made it forbidden…
His denial has not been condoned.
":Bishop": Richard Williamson is not and never has been a Roman Catholic Bishop.
Richard Williamson and others were excommunicated from the Catholic Church for being ordained as bishops without the Pope’s permission which is against both Church Tradition and Church Law.
After Williamson the and the others repented of thier actions and asked to be allowed back into the Chuch, the Pope lifted the excommunication. This action just lets these penitent men receive the sacraments. It does not let them act as bishops nor does it have anything to do with their personal opinions about the Shoah or any other issue.
Remember the purpose of excommunication is the correction and redemption of the person who has chosen to separate himself or herself from the Church.
By the way, the Pope has ordered the ":bishop": to recant his views on the Shoah if he is to be readmitted to the church. http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story…
The Pope recently explained what happened: http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/benedi…

With love in Christ.
It isn’t. Do a little HONEST research brother.
The Vatican spokesman, Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, said emphatically that the Vatican did not share Bishop Williamson’s views, but that it was a completely separate issue from the lifting of the excommunication. Just because the decree was lifted does not mean the bishops are within the Catholic fold: To achieve full communion with Rome, you must accept all the teachings of the Second Vatican Council. The Vatican spokesman said Williamson’s views were ":absolutely indefensible.": While Williamson’s comments may be offensive and erroneous, they are not an excommunicable offense, said Monsignor Robert Wister, professor of church history at Immaculate Conception School of Theology at Seton Hall University in New Jersey.
":To deny the Holocaust is not a heresy even though it is a lie,": he said. ":The excommunication can be lifted because he is not a heretic, but he remains a liar.":
":Saying a person is not excommunicated is not the same as saying one shares all his ideas or statements,": Father Lombardi said.
In a separate letter written Jan. 21, Bishop Fellay commented on Bishop Williamson’s comments about the Holocaust, saying the bishop had spoken for himself, not the society.
Holocaust bishop Richard Williamson defies Pope’s demand to change his views:
Richard Williamson was told that he must renounce ":in an absolutely unequivocal and public way": his claim that gas chambers were not used to exterminate Jews in the Second World War before he is fully readmitted to the Roman Catholic Church.
That guy is a stupid … head case….
I can tell you that The Holocaust Denial is misunderstood ….. there is reasons that they say that some say ":it didn’t happen": comes out wrong in the way of where fingers should be pointed….
Hitler (complete brainwashed pawn who wrote ":fan letters": really to scientists… )had the go ahead from the Catholic Church and the Science of advanced americans and their government… Eugenics played out off our territory…. The US is good for playing out tests on other countries… I am so sorry for that comment but it is believed by me… ugh
NOT A RACIST
@SigGirl: His excommunication was about other issues, but he was informed by the Church that his excommunication would only be lifted once he withdrew his statements about the Holocaust. He refused to do so, and has in fact restated his belief that the Holocaust was a sham several times. Despite not adhering to the terms he was given, he was reinstated.
The Pope lifted his excommunication
Catholics are not denier the Holocaust
That crazy priest should have been defrocked though and i don’t think the Pope should have lifted his excommunication because Holocaust denial is really screwed up
It wasn’t condoned. The excommunication had to do with several significant issues within the Church – it was not about political views.
If you were charged with murder, and had to go to trial for a burglary committed before that, would you expect to be found guilty of burglary because you were guilty of murder? No – of course not. They are two separate things. It’s the same case here.
Because people refuse to believe it happened because either they lost or are sincerely surprised and in denial. Three Fourths of germans were unaware of the holocaust, even the soldiers.
Probably because they are ashamed that Hitler had the full support of the Roman Catholic Church.
I guess they only believe in the unproven. The catholic church is not gaining any brownie points lately.
The pope is a jerk
