Before are Jesus died on the cross how could people get saved when they did not know about Jesus because he has not died for there sins yet? Thanks for your help.
Very good question. People make themselves look simpletons by even trying to answer it, luckily they have pseudo names.
In the life of Jesus, people got saved by believing in His water baptism by John the Baptist. This is where all of us must be born again, and not the Cross. Jesus gave an example of this when He taught Israels teacher who came to Him at the dead of night out of fear of the Jews. He asked Jesus how he could be born again, for he did not have a clue. Jesus then taught him about the gospel of the water and the Spirit – John 3:5 – the gospel that saves people from all sin. He taught him that the water means His baptism by John the Baptist where He took up all our sins when they were put on Him by the laying on of hands just before John baptized Him – Matthew 3:13-17. Just like what happened in the OT when the High Priest put all of Israels sin onto a live animal by laying his hands on its head – Leviticus 16.
This is where we must be saved, right here by the Jordan River – 1 Peter 3:21.
Jesus dying on the Cross was to pay for our sins after taking them up in this most proper way.
So when looking at John 3:5 the water and the Spirit we can see that the water means Jesus baptism by John the Baptist where He took away all the sins of the world – John 1:29, and the Spirit means, God Himself, for God is Spirit.
Here are free Christian Books that preach this wonderful and powerful gospel.
They couldn’t, but the punishment portion of hell didn’t exist at that time so they were not punished just because of the time period they were born in. When Jesus resurrected he went to this area of hell called the Bosom of Abraham where all these souls would go to rest and talked to the souls there and brought the righteous people like Abraham and the other prophets with him to heaven. Not all of these souls were taken to heaven but they will still have the opportunity to accept him because god won’t punish them when they had no opportunity to be saved in the first place.
Salvation has always involved faith in God’s goodness. Those who followed God before Christ came did so by faith. (":By faith Abel…Enoch…Noah…Abraham…Sarah…… Hebr chapter 11) The rules for ancient Israel were partly to keep order in their society, and partly to teach them that however hard they tried, they could not be sinless. It pointed them to the coming sacrifice, the sinless one who would both fulfill the law and embody that salvation in a physical manner on the cross (Jesus is the ":Lamb slain from the foundation of the world": Rev 13:8).
When Christ came, he descended into Hades to free those who waited there in faith from earlier times. (Eph 4:8-10)
Guess they didn’t matter. Man has walked this earth for at least 10,000 years maybe 100,000. The idea of blood sacrifice to appease the anger of forces of nature we could not control nor understand goes way back in time..to appease the anger of the gods. Acts of nature are still referred to in insurance policies as ":Acts of God":. They have recently discovered a cave where the Mayan Indians pulled the hearts out of children that were alive to to gods of the underworld for rain in times of drought. This is as appalling as the Jesus story.. a blood sacrifice of God’s own Son to appease the anger of his Father! This was put into the bible to attract the mystery cults of the day to Christianity who believed in blood sacrifice. I go with you reap what you sow and no one reaps what you sow for you. We are not inferior, born in sin or in need of saving by some superior force. You are Divine. So go out and re-create yourself anew in the greatest vision and grandest version you have of self..and act like the god that you are realize you are Divine and let your light shine to all whose lives you touch!
He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith? Even as Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness. Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. (Galatians 3:5-9)
they were saved through animal sacrifices. before jesus came christians were jews and they would take animals ( like birds and little rodents and things)to the temples and sacrifice them for their sins.
Talking about getting saved is a lot like talking about getting laid. Everything you hear from others is wrong. You need to go to the source.
People who never knew the truth about God –and others who did not commit unforgivable sin– before their deaths … will all be resurrected to the opportunity of learning all about God, his will &: purposes, and his requirements. That is what the 1,000 year long heavenly Kingdom of God over the earth will be doing … bringing mankind –and earth itself– back to perfection. This is also called:
":Judgment Day—What Is It?":
I see that make-believe reasoning has already tried to explain away the paradox. They aren’t saved according to that model. No matter the claims.
we look back in time to the resurrection: they looked forward in time to it. they are saved the same as we are, by the cross of Jesus, the blood of the Lamb.
