Seriously speaking, what has homosexuality done against christianity, exactly?

Every christian I’ve ever met (while, perhaps not being a representative sample, is thought provoking at least …) is against gays in a kinda big way. Seriously, what the heck have gay people done to deserve the crap they get?

anyone who actually does research in and with their bibles would learn that being gay is not a sin. the sin that follows if your not careful like PRIDE is what one has to worry about. that and if you are a fornicator or wh*re monger. otherwise below i have listed the real meaning to verses and sayings that are quoted bout or from the bible

adam &amp: eve procreation myth adam and eve was not put on earth to populate it adam first then eve to help him was put in te garden to take care of the garden procreation and death was the result of adam and eve’s sin disobeying God.

sodom and gomorrah: they were not destroyed because of homosexuality the attemped gang rape of the angels by hetrosexual men was just the last straw God had already decided to destroy sodom before that happend the sin of sodom is clearly stated in Ezekiel bhold, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom, pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.

levit 18:22 and 20:13… this is the jewish holiness code the law of moses it is no longer in effect.it was in effect from 1450 bc till the moment Jesus died. also it was never meant for us gentiles (non jews)

1st timothy and 1st corinthians the list of people who wont enter into heaven the last two words in greek are malikoi and arsenokoitia wich means the temple prostitutes and ther customers.

romans1:23-27 this is talking about the temple priest and priestesses who worshiped the fire god molech mentioned in lev. and the fertility goddess ashtoreth thats why if you read before that verse it says they turned the uncorruptable image of God into that of man and birds and four footed beast

also there is the great love story of johnathan and david and even saul reconized their relationship as sexual basicly calling him a stupid sob that chose david to his own shame and confusion and the shame of his mothers nakedness and when you read the lev laws uncovering someones nakedness is an euphamism for sex.

then there is the first man who Jesus healed &quot:a centurions beloved pias the word pias translated sevant in the bible is a word to describe the younger man in a same sex relationship thats what people of that time understood pias to mean

daniel was brought in to favor and tender love of ashpenaz the prince of the eunuchs

a BORN eunuch from there mothers womb could still procreate and was not deformed in anyway they was born with no attraction to the opposite sex also they are not bound to the adam and eve marriage paradym

and finally the song of songs now called song of solomon it is mistranslated in most bibles now but it was a poem by david’s grandson ,solomons son, asher to a shepard soldier named caleh also a male

Christians were made to hate Gay people by the Council of Trent in 1500. Before that it was no big deal. Christ most certainly did not care if there were gay people. And now that humanity is becoming more enlightened and more understanding and more compassionate it will be a matter of Christians accepting us or lose their credibility.

Being gay is no longer an issue to the youth and the middle aged. Some of the elderly still have some thoughts against it but the Mormons and the Christians seem to have a tough time being Christ-like. They would prefer to ignore the Bible when it says in Matt7:1-5, Thou shalt not judge lest ye be judged, and they would prefer to ignore God’s will and that of Jesus as well.

Not a biggy. At least we’re not the ones going to the Fire and Brimstone Cafe, as long as we follow the example of Christ and live Love, which means accepting the Christians as our brothers and sisters and praying for their sins. We have nothing against the sinner … only the sin.

The only remote thing that I can think that might tick off the majority of people are some of the gay pride Parades. They can be a bit offensive to Christians but none of them are invited unless they are gay so they should not go where they KNOW they will have a problem. Bless us all, gay and Christian.

Christians who base their beliefs on the Bible or on the orthodox teaching of an established Christian Denomination believe that homosexuality is a sin. In their view sin is bad (especially if it is not one of their own sins: Christians tend to be inconsistent, as all human being do in the application of their own belief systems), and God judges sin. What complicates this particular matter is that there are several lengthy biblical passages and stories that portray homosexuality in the worst possible light (you’ve heard of Sodom I assume). There is also a pretty graphic story at the end of the book of Judges that also portrays homosexual desires in very bad light. As far as gay marriage goes, the majority of Christians do not object to citizens being able to chose who they live with (the majority of American Christians are tolerant of that, as they are of other sins), but they object to that arrangement being termed a marriage. In Christians’ eyes a marriage is not merely a contract between two parties, but a religious contract between two parties (a male and female), God and the church. In their thinking, if God disapproves of homosexuality, then how can that relationship be approved by God and the church? Based in their belief systems they are correct. This is why Christians are so adament about a marriage consisting of a male and female. What complicates this is that those who are outside of the Christian community don’t seem to understand the Christian concept of marriage. In most cases Christians do not object to civil unions for homosexuals, they just don’t like those unions called marriages, a word they see as reserved for a traditional nuclear family. I hope this helps your understanding. Real Christians should not be hateful toward anyone, whether it is a gay man or a Democratic politician. There is more biblical admonitions against hate than homosexuality and political affiliation.

It’s all about control. The best way to control people is to give them a common enemy, and what better enemy to give the straight people than a constant 10% of the population, the gay people. The Catholic Church had a plan, it was a plan of expansion and power, in order to do it they needed new blood hence the indoctrination of children. This is why birth control is not allowed. They need more people. More people equals more money in the coffers, and more people means more power. Homosexuals generally don’t have kids. They are the perfect target to signal out as anti-Christian. This gives the people a rallying point. People of all nations, all color, all ethnic backgrounds have a common enemy and that keeps the peace amongst 90% of the population all the time.

It is so simple it’s scarey.

It’s not what gay people have done to anyone. It’s that some Christians take things a little too far with God’s word I think. It says in the bible that being gay is a sin, so they (some Christians) take it upon themselves to be unrelenting about persecuting them over this, which isn’t right!

Good Christian people would not do this, and it gives the rest of us a bad name. As a Christian you’re suppose to speak up (which is REALLY tough to do) and voice what needs voiced, but after you make the effort….then leave it go. Jesus Himself says this: ‘If you walk into town to spread the Good News and no one wants to hear what you have to say, then shake the sand off your sandals as you leave town’.

You’re not suppose to make others miserable over their decisions. You talk to them sure….help them, be supportive for a while, but after that….their choices are their own problem. As a GOOD Christian, you are to spread seeds….plant the idea into someone, and then they, and God…..it will either sprout, or it will not and they will pay the consequences when their time comes.

its really quite simple. homosexuality is biblically forbidden. those who practice it are breaking the biblical laws against it and christians are told to shun those who will not repent and abandon their sins.
&quot: shake off the dust from your feet&quot: is the bible verse that describes the actions christians should take.
this means to not even take the dirt of the person who refuses the christian message with you , to leave them with their own dirt and let God punish them as he has said he will.
thre reality is that homosexuality is , unlike other sins, a sin that recruits and draws others into it.
very seldom does a rapist say &quot: join me in raping people, nor a murderer say &quot: lets go kill people:&quot: There are no rapists bars, no murderers strolls, and very few serial killers go out and try to find people who will march with ehemto protest the treatment of them by the judicial system.
There are no murderers pride parades, or thieves conventions.
]there are no pedophile and straight alliance clubs formed in schools that preach tolerance of baby raping.
there isn’t a thieves section of yahoo where the thieves report and delete the content of anyone who speaks out against theft and calls them stealaphobes.
get the picture?

Nothing, ask any &quot:Christian&quot: to show you what GOD and Jesus said about homosexuality. Not what the &quot:holiness code&quot: says. That is rules made by MAN.

its a pick and choose… what is best for them…

Otherwise, why don’t they enforce:

* DEUTERONOMY 22:13-21
If it is discovered that a bride is not a virgin, the Bible demands that she be executed by stoning immediately.
If a married person has sex with someone else’s husband or wife, the Bible commands that both adulterers be stoned to death.
* MARK 10:1-12
Divorce is strictly forbidden in both Testaments, as is remarriage of anyone who has been divorced.
The Bible forbids a married couple from having sexual intercourse during a woman’s period. If they disobey, both shall be executed.
* MARK 12:18-27
If a man dies childless, his widow is ordered by biblical law to have intercourse with each of his brothers in turn until she bears her deceased husband a male heir.
* DEUTERONOMY 25:11-12
If a man gets into a fight with another man and his wife seeks to rescue her husband by grabbing the enemy’s genitals, her hand shall be cut off and no pity shall be shown her.

The fact that there was an &quot:Old Testament&quot: and now.. a &quot:New Testament&quot: says quite a lot if you ask me.

&quot:Even the devil can cite Scripture for his purpose&quot:

Christianity has been used to deprive people of life and liberty for centuries. Religion is a means of control and power. Another question you should consider is &quot:What have Christians done against humanity?&quot: Here are a few, but certainly not all of the things done in the &quot:name of&quot: God:

* The Crusades (Beginning 1095): As a religious driven military movement, the Crusades, fought mainly against Muslims, were efforts to recapture the “Holy Land” which lead to irrational claims of “crosses” appearing on chests of leaders, demoralization of non-Christians and mass murders of innocent men, women and children.
* The Inquisition (Beginning 1184): The purpose of the Inquisition was stated in a 1578 handbook for inquisitors as, “… for punishment does not take place primarily and per se for the correction and good of the person punished, but for the public good in order that others may become terrified and weaned away from the evils they would commit.” Such a statement makes it clear that the goal was to inspire fear amongst a people in order to rule and conquer them. During the Inquisitions church leaders often supported the enslavement and/or murder of “heretics”.
* Reformation (circa 1518): The intent of the Reformation was to restore Christianity to a more “pure” form. In order to do so, millions upon millions of Europeans were murdered – Catholics murdered Protestants and Protestants murdered Catholics. In some instances, those that “opposed” the church authority were murdered and hung in cages as a reminder to all what happens to such persons.
* Witch Hunts (beginning circa 1480 in Europe): The witch hunts in the United States were short lived and resulted in very few deaths compared to the witch hunts in Europe where countless people were wrongfully murdered after bogus trials.
* The Holocaust (beginning circa 1933): Christian Fundamentalism was a primary cause of the Holocaust. Jewish persons had been murdered and enslaved throughout Europe’s violent Christian history and the Nazi’s continued this long tradition of murder – claiming it to be for the betterment of God and God’s wish. Although the Jewish people took the largest number of casualties, other groups were murdered including, homosexuals, Soviet citizens, political prisoners and the disabled.
* The Christian Identity Movement (circa 1915): Crimes Against the Jewish, African Americans and Homosexuals continued in the name of “God” with the advent of groups such as the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) during the Christian Identity Movement. These groups again made claims of their intentions to purify the Christian religion and use violence, intimidation and other horrifying methods to make their case. Other groups which are considered part of the Christian Identity Movement include: the American Nazi Party: Aryan Nations: Church of Jesus Christ Christian: Jubilee, National Association for the Advancement of White People: The Order: Scriptures for America: White Aryan Resistance (WAR): and White Separatist Banner.

So… you see… they need someone to conquer… someone to blame.

HAHA so much for god is love!……come on, surely no one takes the opinion of any religious body seriously?….and even if they do! then the fact that every religion is based on &quot:fairy stories&quot: should make them all pro! gay?….smirk (OK sorry for the terrible pun.)

I would love to see how christians answer this question.
