Christian-What happens when we die?

I’m Christian and know something good/bad (depending on the individual) will happen, but what exactly.
Some people say we go into a sleep like state until Jesus comes again and we are resurrected, others say we go straight to heaven or hell, some say purgatory. I don’t know and I don’t worry all that much, because I know we will be rewarded with some kind of eternal life.
What do you think?

If you are trusting in what the sinless Lord Jesus did on the cross to pay for your sins then you go to be with the Lord when you leave this earth.

Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain. 22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know! 23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far:

If a person is trusting in their own self righteous deeds to be made right with God then they unfortunately go to the holding tank of Hell or Hades where they await the resurrection of the damned.

Their lives will be unrolled before them at the White throne judgment and just like they could not be found innocent for breaking a law because of all of the times they were doing good instead of breaking the law, so too will they be horrified to learn that God will find them guilty because they failed to accept the payment that the Lord Jesus made for their lawless deeds in this life.

Revelation 20:10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

11 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

13 The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to what he had done. 14 Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. 15 If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Nobody knows! What we do know is all our biological functions stop, so consequently we have no memory or conception of anything that happened before we died anymore than a leaf knows from which tree it fell. There are many interpretations of what happens to any residual existence, what some religions call a soul or spirit, and it’s not uncommon to use metaphors like &quot:sleep&quot: to describe the condition. There is no consensus amongst religions, and even within Christian sects there are many different interpretations. It really is what your faith leads you to believe that represents the best guess at what happens.

God’s Word the Bible explains clearly what happens when we die at Ecclesiastes 9:5, &quot:The living are conscious they will die, but as for the dead they are conscious of nothing at all.&quot: as well as Psalm 146:4, and Ezekial 18:4 and Ecclesiates 9:10 just to name a few scriptural truths you can look up to know what God tells us of what happens when we die.

Well first an autopsy may be performed to determine the cause of death. Then funeral arrangement may be made then usually a wake and then the funeral service will happen. Then you are either cremated then buried or just buried.

The same thing happens no matter what religion you followed during your life. When you die, you cease to exist. You will have just as much consciousness as you did before you were born: none. Beliefs can’t alter the facts.

To be absent from the body is the be present with God. Everybody will return to the Creator until Judgement Day.

There is no evidence for anything happening. Think about it.

Either way, if you truly believe, I don’t think you should really worry cause will be in Heaven eventually.

I think you spend too much time listening to what other people think.

Don’t be stupid AND a hypocrite.

It is written that your spirit returns unto God Who gave it.
