Its just too cold too dark to live in Antarctica. Its a frozen wasteland. You wpuld need resupply ships coming and going around the clock to keep anyone there fed and warm. The ship captains will tell you its exceptionally hard to get to Antarctica because of the ice and the frigid weather.
