RE Syria: What is difference between a civil war and a revolutionary war — or just plain terrosism?

Well, terrorism doesn’t have to be associated with any side or political leaning.

It can be religious, ethnic or economic in nature, or just plain meanness.

Civil war is fighting within a country by the people who are citizens of that country.

A revolution is a successful revolt and can be against any entity.

I was told that if they lose, then they are not revolutions, but failed revolts.

The only just reason for war is to protect freedoms. War or terrorism for any other reason is immoral.

The difference is what side you’re on. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter, and all that.
