I met a seller in craiglist.org and he told me he was selling his car only by ebaymotors, how can I know if he is a scammer and only wants to steal my money? He said I was supose to pay to ebaymotors he sends me thr car and if i want to keep it i tell ebay motors to pay him, is that safe or i will never get the car?
Ebay has NOTHING to do with any Craigslist sales. And there is no company called Ebay Motors. Evay is ONLY involved if you found the car listed for auction ON EBAY, you bid ON EBAY, you win the auction ON EBAY and you pay ON EBAY’s checkout page with your linked Paypal account
Read Craigslist’s very clear scam warnings
":How to recognize a vehicle scam attempt on CL:
Shipping a vehicle to you is suggested by seller
eBay Motors or another intermediary is specified by seller
Payment by Western Union or a money wire is requested
Price is unusually low (fraction of blue book value)
If you see these tell-tale signs, flag ad as ":prohibited": and avoid
Offers to ship a vehicle are virtually 100% fraudulent
eBay has no involvment in craigslist for sale ads, and any eBay or similar emails or web pages you receive are fake
Never use Western Union or wire transfer to pay for goods – only a scammer will ask for this, and any funds sent will be lost
Do not buy vehicles sight-unseen, regardless of low price. The vehicle does not exist, and any money you send will be lost.
Stories about divorcees or departing servicemen needing to sell quickly at a low price are generally fraudulent
If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is!":
Cut off ALL contact with this scammer and report the ad to Craigslist to get it removed ASAP before people fall for this

Before you even view car ads on Craigslist, you come to a landing page that has the scam warning on it.
Let me guess… the car was priced WAY under book value, right? Like a 2008 or so for $2900? The ":seller": wants to ship you the car for free (through some magic connection), because of some sob story (military, divorcing, dead relative, moving overseas, etc.). They want you to wire funds through this magic ":ebaymotors protection plan": and you’ll have 5-7 days to inspect the car.
It’s a long-running scam. He/she can send you fake webpages for ebaymotors all day, but they DO NOT get involved as an escrow service, ever.
If you wire funds, they’re gone… overseas and G-O-N-E.
