What things do you think might be alive in a sense other than biological?

I define life as anything that can come into existence, change, and then fade from existence. To me, fire is alive. So is the earth, but not just the biosphere. The earth is geologically alive. Storms are alive, and so are languages, stories, cities, nations, fashions, and trends. Even the universe itself is a gigantic life form, to me. These are all things that are born, change, and die, just like we do. They even evolved like we did, going from simple to complex. Life is everywhere to me. even if our sun went out and the earth and everything on it died, the universe is still full of life. Even when this universe dies, I know the multiverse is constantly spawning new universes, and if the multiverse dies I have to believe that there’s something spawning new multiverses all the time. Life is a fractal, scaling in spacetime. I’m alive, the things that made me are alive, the things that made them are alive, etc.

God had created many planets and ended his creation work successfully with the earth. He had wished that all creatures must live forever and ever and that’s why He had created male and female. Then to destroy the unwanted universes including planets and stars He had created the black-holes.

God cannot watch each and every human being at the same moment. That’s why He had created the spirits to watch, guide and determine the destiny of the human beings from their daily activities, talks and thoughts too. Your past determines your present and your present determines your future. God has given freewill to all creatures including human beings. According to this, all human beings have all right to live a life as they wish. But if it happens to be bad and hurts someone, they have to face the consequences. These consequences are created by spirits. It’s a natural system. After death no one lives in any form. Heaven and hell are only for spirits. Spirits are separate elements. A human being is not a single spirit. A human being during his/her life time is living with many spirits which have joined one by one since birth. They are knowledge, skills, feelings, emotions, interests and everything. Even thoughts are not your own. For example, when you want to take a decision on a subject, one after another the spirits think and you just listen, choose or reject the ideas which they transmit to your mind through your brain in the form of thoughts. A human being is just a robot made of flesh, bones, tissues etc., and a toy of the spirits for their games.

Yes….. any time-bound existence of anything can be defined as its ‘life’….. thus even an idea has a life.

I agree.

Being alive means having an energy body that moves the physical body. Life forms below plant life don’t have that, whereas plants have a partial energy body, and forms above plants have energy bodies.

Fire is a carbon based life form. In what sense is it not biochemistry!

So I guess the question is…with your definition, what is NOT alive?

Oh well if we’re changing the meanings of words… Why?

Evidently redefining words to mean whatever you want them to mean is alive and well. To me, things that are alive are anything that is colored orange. So, like, crayons are alive 1/10th of the time, and Trump is alive, and some M&amp:M’s and Froot-Loops are alive. Things I type on the computer are alive if I change the font color to orange. Some football teams have living helmets. You know. Whatevs.
