How is it that when you read the bible, quran, book of mormon, they all sound very similar?

Does the style or word choice prove that the words are from God?

Does the historical accuracy prove that the words are from God?

If you believe that any one of these books are inspired of god, can you prove it with empirical (evidence by experiment or observation) evidence, outside the words of the particular book itself?

If you try and use the books own words it is ‘circular reasoning’ thus the biblical claim ‘the word of God’ cannot be considered as empirical evidence.

Joseph Smith was a con man. People paid him money to find treasures. His excuse for not finding treasure was it was guarded by spirits. He was arrested as a &quot:juggler,&quot: or &quot:con man.&quot: He was brought before a justice of the peace. The judge ascertained that there was enough evidence to try him. This was in Bainbridge, N.Y., in 1826, The judge was Albert Neely. Smith was labeled a &quot:glass looker&quot:. The evidence against Smith was sufficient that, if Smith had not left town, he would have been judged guilty. Smith then went on and fabricated the Book of Mormon. He got his idea for the book from Ethan Smith’s View of the Hebrews, or &quot:The Tribes of Israel in America&quot:.He supposedly used a pair of spectacles to &quot:translate&quot: the plates for the Book of Mormon, friends and relatives said he used the same stone he used in his former money digging scheme. The gold plates never existed according to a witness. An early Mormon convert heard Harris say &quot:I never saw the plates.&quot:
Details can be found in &quot:Joseph Smith and the Origins of the Book of Mormon&quot:, by David Persuitte.
There has not been found one piece of archaeological evidence to support the story of ancient America found in the Book of Mormon. In the 1950s, the LDS church financed &quot:the largest archaeological project ever funded by a religious institution&quot: It was successful in that it uncovered an enormous amount of archaeological information about ancient America, but as far as providing any evidence for the Book of Mormon, it was a failure. That has not been changed by any subsequent archaeological findings.
In his book, Losing a Lost Tribe: Native Americans, DNA, and the Mormon Church, Simon G. Southerton shows that the American natives show no evidence of Israelite descent, which contradicts what the Book of Mormon says.
Joseph Smith had an eye for women, so he instituted plural marriage and took over 50 wives, some of them the wives of other men.
Mormon doctrine:
God was once a man He has a body of flesh and bone and lives on a planet near the star Kolob. The sun gets its light from the Kolob. God has at least one wife, our &quot:Mother in Heaven,&quot: but she is so holy that we are not to discuss her nor pray to her. We can become like God and rule over our own universe. There are many gods. In the highest degree of the celestial kingdom men have more than one wife. A righteous Mormon will see the face of God in the Mormon temple. If a Gentile becomes Mormon, the Holy Ghost actually purges his Gentile blood and replaces it with Israelite blood.
. Jesus was married. Jesus and Satan are brothers, They are our brothers. We are spirit children of Heavenly Father. Jesus was conceived by God by having sex with Mary. We should not pray to Jesus. The &quot:Lord&quot: in the Old Testament is Jesus in the New Testament, but different from &quot:God the Father&quot:. Christ will not return to earth in any year that has seen a rainbow.
Before coming to this earth we lived as spirits in a &quot:pre-existence&quot:, in which we were tested. Dark skin is a curse from God, the result of our sin or our ancestors sin. If righteous, a dark-skinned person will become light-skinned. Not only will humans be resurrected to eternal life, but also all animals.
All humans before the Flood lived in the western hemisphere. The Ark transported Noah to the eastern hemisphere. Mormons should avoid traveling on water, Satan rules the waters. You can identify a false angel by the color of his hair, or by offering to shake his hand.
American Indians are &quot:descendants of Lehi&quot:, but there is not a hint of the Hebrew language in any of the Indian dialects. The Garden of Eden was in Missouri. The Book of Mormon says that Lehi found horses in America. Horses did not exist in the Americas until the 16th century. The Book of Mormon says that Nephi had a bow of steel. Jews did not have steel in this time period and iron was not smelted in the Americas until Spaniard arrived. The book of Mormon mentions &quot:swords and cimeters.&quot: Scimitars were not around until the rise of Islam (500A.D.) The Book of Mormon mentions silk. This did not exist in the Americas at this time.
In D&amp:C 130:3 it says, &quot:The idea that the Father and the Son dwell in a man’s heart is an old sectarian notion, and is false.&quot:

Does the style or word choice prove that the words are from God?

No.

Does the historical accuracy prove that the words are from God?

Yes, if historical accuracy is there it proves that it is valid. However, if it turns out the written words is not true, it is proof that it was NOT written by God. In the case of the Book of Mormon and the Quran, they both are full of historical and geographic material which is patently false. Not one place written about in the Book of Mormon has EVER been found.

If you believe that any one of these books are inspired of god, can you prove it with empirical (evidence by experiment or observation) evidence, outside the words of the particular book itself?

Yes you can with the Bible, but you can’t with the Quran or the Book of Mormon.

If you try and use the books own words it is ‘circular reasoning’ thus the biblical claim ‘the word of God’ cannot be considered as empirical evidence.

Not really, you need to compare the books own words to the known facts of the universe. Are the prophesies in the books correct? Where they fulfilled or not?

&quot:How is it that when you read the bible, quran, book of mormon, they all sound very similar?&quot:

My unscientific guess is that they sound similar because attempting to manipulate human beings with a deity can only be done through certain routes. If you ever take a look at controlling cults you’ll find lots of similarities, whether they’re religious or secular.

&quot:Does the style or word choice prove that the words are from God?&quot:

Of course not.

&quot:Does the historical accuracy prove that the words are from God?&quot:

What &quot:historical accuracy&quot:? The books you refer to are not backed up by archeological evidence.

Obviously you’ve never read any of the three or you would not have asked that question.

The Bible has never been proven in error or false historically, geographically, scientifically, or archaeologically (care to try to prove otherwise?).

The BOM has been proven many times over to be in error AND false at least historically and geographically (e.g. many cities cited in the BOM have never existed, no ridable horses on the north American continent until the Spaniards arrived in the 15th century, along with pigs, cows, sheep, oxen, linen, silk, grape vineyards, olives, gold &amp: silver as a medium of exchange, metallurgy, brass breast plates, Bumblebee [another type of bee was here] , wheeled vehicles [eg chariots], metal weapons, etc). The BOM mentions a river that flows from the northern side of the Red Sea into the Red Sea when there is no evidence (physical or in written/oral history) of any such river existing (you don’t know which book of the BOM that is in, do you? No? Didn’t think you did).

The Qur’an is not historically correct, and is based on writings of a a man who came from the culture that worshiped an exalted moon god. Allah was at one time one of many gods and was exalted to be head god…al’ilah. ‘”Allah” is a proper name, applicable only to their [Arabs’] peculiar god. In Arabia, the sun god was viewed as a female goddess and the moon as the male god. The moon god was called by various names, one of which was Allah! Allah, the moon god, was married to the sun goddess. Together they produced three goddesses who were called “the daughters of Allah.” These three goddesses were called Al-Lat, Al-Uzza, and Manat.
The Bible teaches to love your enemies and pray for them and those who turn from God, while the Qur’an says to slay those who refuse to convert. The Qur’an does recognize Jesus as the Messiah, but merely another prophet. There are so many differences between the Bible and the Qur’an.

The style of the 3 books are in no way ‘similar’. Arabic is not any where near English. The style of English in the BOM is copied from the KJV of the Bible.

Your ignorance of the three books is quite evident. Come back when you know what you’re talking about.
Nice try, but no cigar.
&quot:They all sound very similar&quot:? hahahahahahaohohohohohohehehehehe!

Its funny that people believe &quot:The Bible&quot:, written and edited by men driven by power. What we know of this book was written many years after the real book that we should be looking at. Look at the differences between the old testament, the new testament and the king james bible. Then look to the beginning of written history, the story that explains how mankind existed for millions of years as hunters and gatherers and then suddenly became metal workers, and road builders. Why would you not believe the first story ever written, but believe these fabricated works written many thousands of years afterwards?

I like to think that the similarities amongst world religions gives credence to monotheism. Despite the overlaps in the major religious texts, there are substantial differences in core doctrine. Perhaps the overlaps like- basic ideas of morality, faithfulness, and the pursuit of happiness are truly inspired by &quot:God&quot: whereas the other details are man-made ideas?

Christians don’t rely on worldly proof as you are demanding our belief in God is by faith alone,
and therefor no additional evidence is, or will be needed.

For those who reject the One True God, thus choosing other paths, all of which lead to eternal destruction, there is simply nothing anyone say or demonstrate to cause a change in thinking so this entire question is simply moot.

Which one of the books you mentioned has its founder claiming to be God and appeared to several hundred people after his death?

The Quran and Mormon junk are just ripoffs of the Bible. But with more aliens and bloodshed.

ItВґs illogical on your part to think so.
