This is one of mine
":You have heard people say ":Love your neighbours and hate your enemies":. But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you. Then you will be acting like your Father in heaven. He makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong. If you love only those people who love you, will God reward you for that? Even tax collectors love their friends. If you greet only your friends, what’s so great about that? Don’t even unbelievers do that? But you must always act like your Father in heaven.":
":If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserveres.
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease: where there are tongues, they will be stilled: where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror: then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part: then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.":
I Corinthians 13
Well, I’m going to have to say this.
Minion….. the passage you quote is powerful and in light of a previous question you asked that I answered – nothing less than amazing at how God works.
Jesus has proved He is right through your own mouth.
Jesus speaks in parables for this reason…..
He has indeed not permitted those that WILL NOT HEAR to understand.
None of this is by chance. Jesus Christ will go to His death to redeem you.
It is an act of mercy. The more you understand and reject, the greater the burden you have placed upon yourself.
Christ is in effect, keeping you from greater punishment.
The more you understand and reject is akin to running head on into a minefield.
Now this should set off alarm bells from my answer to your previous question.
Will you permit it?
A verse I adore:
2 Timothy 1:12
That is why I am suffering as I am. Yet I am not ashamed, because I know whom I have believed, and am convinced that he is able to guard what I have entrusted to him for that day.
Romans 10:10, Matthew 5:16
It’s interesting that you ask that because I was just reading this verse this afternoon.
37 ":You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.39 A second is equally important: Love your neighbor as yourself. 40 All of the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.":
One of my Favorite verses is:
And he that sat, was to the sight like the jasper and the sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald. [Apoc. 4, 3] because of its mystical meaning, how it is explaining the life of the Our Blessed Mother [Matth. 19, 26-27]. The best way to explain it is: The life of this PhЕ“nix among the works of God is a book so sealed up that none is found among all the creatures of heaven and earth, worthy to open it (Apoc. 4, 3). It is evident then, that only the powerful Lord can unseal it: He who made Her more perfect than all the creatures: or She herself, the Mistress, our Queen and Mother, who was worthy to receive and properly to appreciate her ineffable gifts.
I really like chapter 21 of the Apocalypse of Saint John for it explains the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her perfection in life and the role that God has given to her.
1 Timothy 2:12
One of mine is John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have ever lasting life.
Now personalize it: For God so loved, (put your name here….pat nancy jack larry ….?????) that He gave His only begotten Son, whosoever ( that means not just you but any and everyone) who believes in Him should not perish (die sinful and into hell), but have everlasting life,
Do this with 1 Cor 13 the love chapter and place your name then Jesus’ name into the verses and see what happens and how you will rethink those verses.
I quite like this one
Jesus explains why he speaks in parables: to confuse people so they will go to hell. Mark 4:11-12
Even so come quickly Lord Jesus.
THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD!!!!!!
